General Counsel with FTC Experience

Job Summary

To support a growing direct-to-consumer health technology company, the part-time General Counsel with FTC experience will lead the legal function, focusing on data privacy compliance, commercial contract negotiation, and marketing regulations while transitioning to a full-time role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the company's data privacy and protection strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as HIPAA and CCPA/CPRA
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor and partnership contracts
• Provide legal guidance on marketing claims and advertising compliance, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law
• 4+ years of legal experience, preferably in healthtech or direct-to-consumer environments
• Experience with data privacy regulations such as HIPAA and CCPA/CPRA
• Strong background in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
• Experience advising on marketing claims and consumer protection law
