General Extender

Job Summary

To support a dynamic radiology team, the full-time General Extender will augment a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services, assist in creating and editing Radiology reports for accuracy, and work overnight shifts remotely, with a weekend rotation and holiday requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Augment a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services and assist in creating Radiology Final Reports
• Transcribe radiographic dictations and manage the work list of patient orders for timely distribution to radiologists
• Collaborate with other General Extenders to ensure all orders are read by radiologists within required turnaround times

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in health science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• One year of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or Medical Editor
• One year of work experience requiring daily use of medical terminology and knowledge of human anatomy
