Generative AI Engineering Manager

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Manager of Generative AI Engineering who will balance technical work and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 7-10 engineers, setting expectations and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
• Design and implement production-grade generative AI systems while translating stakeholder requests into actionable engineering work
• Manage operational outcomes for AI systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and alignment with broader product strategies

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with production-grade LLM or generative AI systems
• Strong technical background in software engineering with a focus on complex distributed systems
• Experience with automated evaluation pipelines for LLM outputs and implementing human-in-the-loop controls
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and translate stakeholder requests into well-scoped engineering tasks
