Job Summary

Providing financial clearance for patients seeking Genetic Testing Services, the part-time Genetics Financial Coordinator will analyze benefit requirements, communicate costs and patient responsibilities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure adequate financial planning and coverage options.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze benefit requirements and initiate requests for authorization and pre-certifications for genetic testing services
• Communicate with patients regarding anticipated costs and assist them in developing financial plans for genetic testing
• Maintain patient account records and provide ongoing financial counseling based on individual patient benefits and expenses

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Three years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient accounts processing
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
• Proficiency in Windows-based office software and basic mathematics
