Genomic Variant Scientist - Remote

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Genomic Variant Scientist for a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classify and interpret human genetic/genomic variants in accordance with company SOPs
• Maintain communication with laboratories located within or outside the company
• Troubleshoot NGS pipeline variant annotations as required

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Life Sciences (Genetics / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Experimental Pathology) or Master's in Genetic Counseling with a strong background in Human Genetics and WES/NGS technologies
• Minimum 3 years of experience in classifying variants based on ACMG guidelines in a clinical setting required
• Proficiency with large NGS datasets, in-silico tools, HGVS nomenclature, and genome browsers
• Ability to use bioinformatics software and Microsoft Office suite of products
• Ability to meet production timelines with a sense of urgency and ethical responsibility in a rapidly evolving dynamic setting
