Job Summary
Utilizing advanced clinical and coding expertise, the full-time Georgia Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will ensure the integrity of clinical documentation through extensive record review, education, and consultation, while working remotely from home.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitates the quality, completeness, and accuracy of medical record documentation through thorough reviews and provider education
- Communicates with healthcare team members to enhance understanding of clinical documentation requirements and monitors provider engagement
- Accurately codes relevant diagnoses and collaborates with coding staff to ensure comprehensive documentation of patient care
Required qualifications
- Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing or Health Information Technology, or an advanced degree in a medical field
- Current Registered Nurse License, Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Two years of experience in Critical Care, Medical or Surgical Inpatient Care Nursing, or as an inpatient coder preferred
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) preferred
- Proficiency in using standard desktop and Windows-based computer systems, with experience in databases and presentation software preferred
