Georgia Licensed Lead Medical Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Coder in Behavioral Health.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstracts clinical information from medical records and assigns appropriate ICD-10 codes
• Mentors and trains coding team members while tracking monthly productivity data
• Coordinates education and quality improvement initiatives for the coding team

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology or related field
• Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H preferred
• 1-3 years of inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience, preferably in behavioral health
• Previous leadership experience in a medical setting
• Above average computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
