Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder specializing in Behavioral Health.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstract clinical information from medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10 codes
• Verify codes for professional fee charges and communicate findings on documentation issues
• Mentor and train other coders while tracking and reporting coding productivity data

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology or related field
• Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in inpatient/outpatient coding, with a focus on behavioral health
• Above average computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of MedSeries4 and 3M Encoder preferred
