Job Summary
To support coding operations in a remote environment, the full-time Georgia Licensed Medical Coder will perform medical coding for ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations while reviewing medical records and addressing coding issues.
Key responsibilities
- Completes medical coding by translating clinical information into coded data and ensuring adherence to coding guidelines
- Assists with documentation and coding compliance, following applicable laws and internal policies
- Collaborates with clinicians and coding staff to resolve coding issues and reduce denials
Required qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
