Georgia Licensed Medical Coder II

Job Summary

To enhance coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Georgia Licensed Medical Coder II will perform medical coding for ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry, while working remotely and collaborating with clinical teams to resolve coding issues and improve submission timelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Translate clinical information into coded data, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and standards
• Review and analyze medical records for compliance and accuracy, addressing any coding issues with appropriate stakeholders
• Support the development and updating of coding processes to meet regulatory requirements and improve operational efficiency

Required qualifications:

• Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent, plus two (2) years of coding experience or one (1) year in a corporate or business office environment
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
