Job Summary
To support coding accuracy in ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry, the full-time Georgia Licensed Medical Coder II will perform medical coding, review ambulatory medical records, and assist with coding compliance while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Completes medical coding by translating clinical information into coded data, following relevant coding guidelines
- Reviews and remediates edits in ambulatory medical records and performs denial review/processing
- Collaborates with clinicians and coding staff to resolve coding issues and improve submission processes
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of coding experience, or two (2) years of coding experience with one (1) year in a corporate environment
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
