Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Georgia Licensed Medical Coder II will perform medical coding for ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry, ensuring compliance with coding standards and collaborating with clinicians to resolve coding issues, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Completes medical coding by translating clinical information into coded data and ensuring accuracy according to coding guidelines
- Assists with documentation and coding compliance by adhering to federal, state, and internal regulations
- Collaborates with team members to identify and address coding issues, improving submission times and reducing denials
Required qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of coding experience, or two (2) years of coding experience with one (1) year in a corporate environment
- Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
