Job Summary
To enhance coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Georgia Licensed Medical Coder II will perform medical coding for ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry, review medical records, and assist in denial processing while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Complete medical coding by translating clinical information into coded data following established guidelines
- Review ambulatory medical records to identify and remediate coding edits and support denial processing
- Collaborate with team members and clinicians to resolve coding issues and improve documentation compliance
Required qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of coding experience or one (1) year in a corporate environment
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
