Job Summary
To support coding accuracy in ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry, the full-time Georgia Licensed Medical Coder II will translate clinical information into coded data, ensure compliance with coding standards, and assist with documentation and coding compliance while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Complete medical coding by translating clinical information into appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Assist with documentation and coding compliance, following applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Support efforts to update coding processes and meet regulatory goals through analysis and collaboration with team members
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent AND minimum two (2) years of coding experience, or two (2) years of coding experience and one (1) year in a corporate or business office environment
- Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
