Job Summary
Reviewing and assigning codes for outpatient medical records, the full-time remote Georgia Licensed Outpatient Coder will focus on coding for hospital outpatient surgery, wound care, and observation based on established guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews and analyzes outpatient medical record documentation for accurate coding
- Assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 HCPCS codes based on coding criteria
- Ensures compliance with coding guidelines and standards for outpatient surgery and related services
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Hospital coding experience required
- Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization preferred
- One or more coding certifications required upon hire
- Preferred certifications include RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, or CPC
