Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time remote Georgia Licensed Specialty Coder will review, analyze, and code medical record documentation for various medical and surgical subspecialties, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with medical necessity.
Key responsibilities
- Review and code medical records for diagnostic and procedural information using ICD-10, CPT, Modifiers, and HCPCS codes
- Audit orders and claims for accuracy and completeness to minimize claim denials
- Provide technical guidance to physicians and staff, fostering effective working relationships
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 years of coding experience in Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, EP, and Cardiothoracic specialties required
- One or more coding certifications (RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CCS, or CCS-P) required upon hire
- Coding certificate program from an AAPC accredited institution preferred
- Experience coding across multiple specialties and remote coding experience preferred
