Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Georgia Licensed Surgical Coder will review, analyze, and code medical record documentation for surgical specialties, ensuring accuracy in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews and codes medical record documentation for surgical specialties to the correct coding standards
- Audits orders and claims for accuracy and completeness to minimize claim denials
- Provides technical guidance to physicians and staff in resolving coding issues and errors
Required qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Coding Certificate program (AAPC accredited) preferred
- Coding experience required
- Experience in coding across multiple specialties preferred
- One or more relevant certifications (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CPC, CCS) required upon hire
