Geospatial Data Scientist

Job Summary

Transforming complex spatial data into actionable insights, the contract-to-hire Geospatial Data Scientist will work remotely to manage the full geospatial data pipeline, including data ingestion, analysis, modeling, and visualization, while collaborating with engineering and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute geospatial analyses to support product and business decision-making
• Build, validate, and maintain spatial data models and pipelines using PostgreSQL with PostGIS
• Create maps, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to diverse stakeholders

Required qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in data science, GIS, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Python for geospatial data analysis and modeling
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial querying and data management
• Familiarity with geospatial standards and formats, including GeoJSON and Shapefile
• Experience with GIS tools such as QGIS or ArcGIS
