Geospatial Data Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing team focused on civic and geospatial data, the full-time Software Engineer, Geospatial Data will design, implement, and maintain applications and infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data availability and quality in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of applications and infrastructure
• Collaborate with product, research, and data science teams to develop features from requirements definition to testing and documentation
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performing features in a cloud environment

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python for data pipelines, scripting, and automation
• Experience with cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform or AWS
• Familiarity with geospatial data and tools such as shapefiles and PostGIS
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with Ruby on Rails applications
