Geospatial IT Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, the part-time hourly Geospatial IT Infrastructure Specialist will manage the Esri ArcGIS Server environment, collaborate on web service implementations, and provide technical support for hardware and software needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the upgrade and maintenance of the Esri ArcGIS Server environment within the Rutgers Virtual Machine Network
• Collaborate with the GIS Coordinator to implement and republish web services for large spatial datasets
• Summarize technical information for communication with Rutgers IT regarding system upgrades and support needs

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Planning, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Five or more years of professional work experience in computer systems operations
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcServer and Virtual Machine operating systems
• Experience with ESRI ArcPro and ArcGIS Online administration and support
• Knowledge of Microsoft desktop computer administration and support
