GIS Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a GIS Specialist to support the processing and management of external source bathymetry data for navigation products.

Key Responsibilities

• Review bathymetry data and metadata for suitability in navigation product updates
• Investigate and verify submissions from external data providers for validity and appropriate use
• Process submitted data to OCS standard formats and prepare for ingestion into the National Bathymetric Source

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience in GIS, Computer Mapping, and/or Charting fields, with 2-4 years in Hydrography
• Experience with data analysis, GIS software development, and database management
• Familiarity with geospatial applications, mapping standards, and hydrographic science
• Knowledge of common bathymetric data formats and automation opportunities
