Job Summary
Supporting the U.S. Department of the Interior, the full-time GIS Specialist will provide technical GIS services, develop and maintain geospatial data and applications, and produce high-quality mapping and analytical support, all while working remotely within designated locations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain GIS maps, graphics, and tabular data products using ESRI software
- Create and maintain enterprise geodatabases and perform spatial analysis to produce GIS deliverables
- Provide technical assistance and support to Bureau of Reclamation personnel, ensuring compliance with Government standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Three to five years of professional GIS production experience using ESRI software
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro and maintaining enterprise geodatabases
- Knowledge of GIS principles, cartography, spatial analysis, and geospatial data management
- Ability to develop automated geoprocessing tools using Python and ModelBuilder
