GIS Systems Architect

Job Summary

Responsible for the design and deployment of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the salaried GIS Systems Architect will work remotely to craft strategic visions, evaluate technology, and ensure system performance and integration across enterprise platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of systems architectures with organizational goals and lead technology initiatives across the portfolio
• Document existing systems architecture and propose improvements while adhering to enterprise architecture standards
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance system flexibility and cost-effectiveness

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, GIS, or Engineering, or a minimum of 7 years of equivalent professional experience
• Extensive experience in developing comprehensive systems architecture plans and analyzing business requirements
• Proficiency with enterprise GIS applications, such as ArcGIS Enterprise, and in-depth knowledge of GIS systems and geomatics principles
• Successful track record in project planning and management, with a thorough understanding of system design methodologies
• Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex system issues
