GIS Technician

Job Summary

A company is looking for a GIS Technician to support engineering and operations teams by maintaining accurate geospatial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and quality check GIS databases for accurate representation of fiber routes and assets
• Adjust and correct shapefiles and KML/KMZ files to ensure proper alignment within the GIS system
• Review and update DWG files, ensuring compliance with established mapping standards

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and updating GIS databases
• Proficiency with shapefiles, KML/KMZ, and other geospatial formats
• Familiarity with reviewing and adjusting DWG files; AutoCAD experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand standard construction drawings
• Competency using Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
