Job Summary
Specializing in attitude control design, the full-time GNC Engineer will design and implement spacecraft attitude control architectures and algorithms in an embedded C++ environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop modular, mission-agnostic solutions, and supporting on-orbit system performance analysis and anomaly resolution, with the flexibility to work remotely or from San Jose, CA.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement attitude control architectures and algorithms in an embedded C++ environment
- Define requirements for ACS algorithms and related systems, including roadmap development
- Perform analysis and simulation of mission-specific performance and support on-orbit systems
Required qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent plus 2+ years of professional experience, or extensive hands-on experience with GNC analysis and design
- Proficiency in C++ programming
- Knowledge of control and optimization theory
- Experience with LEO platform attitude actuators and sensors, including reaction wheels and star trackers
- Expertise in numerical programming environments such as Python, Julia, or MATLAB
