Government Audit Underwriter

Job Summary

To support post-closing quality control processes, the remote Government Audit Resolution Underwriter will analyze complex mortgage documentation, identify and resolve audit findings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with agency and investor standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed post-closing reviews of mortgage loan files for compliance with investor and internal quality control standards
• Analyze loan-to-value ratios, debt-to-income ratios, credit reports, and supporting loan documentation
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to resolve audit findings and ensure loan file accuracy

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Control Underwriting or a related mortgage audit resolution role
• Strong understanding of mortgage lending principles and investor guidelines, particularly for Government loan products
• Advanced analytical skills to evaluate complex financial and mortgage documentation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and meet deadlines
