Government Contracting Specialist
Job Summary
Supporting the Iowa APEX Accelerator Program, the full-time Government Contracting Specialist will work remotely to assist Iowa businesses in navigating government contracting processes, providing coaching, technical assistance, and market opportunity identification.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct client needs assessments and develop tailored action plans for businesses seeking government contracts
- Provide individualized coaching on government registrations, proposal development, and compliance with contracting requirements
- Facilitate connections between businesses and relevant programs, partners, and resources to enhance their readiness for government contracting
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience
- Experience working with the Department of War or knowledge of federal contracting processes
- Familiarity with federal registrations, socioeconomic certifications, and contractor cybersecurity requirements
- Experience supporting manufacturing businesses or knowledge of manufacturing operations and supply chains
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
