Job Summary
Recognized as a subject-matter expert, the full-time remote Government Relations Manager will independently advance federal advocacy priorities related to medical research, public health, and higher education, while leading legislative analysis and coalition initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead advocacy planning and implementation for assigned policy priorities and legislative initiatives
- Develop strategic recommendations for leadership regarding emerging legislative opportunities and risks
- Manage day-to-day operations and advocacy strategies for the AAMC-led Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in federal government relations, public policy, or related fields
- Recognized expertise in federal legislative processes, advocacy strategy, and coalition engagement
- Demonstrated experience leading significant advocacy initiatives and cross-functional projects
- Strong analytical skills and ability to track and analyze federal legislative issues
- Experience working with elected officials and handling advocacy communications
