Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Government Underwriter DE/SAR Licensed, the full-time position will underwrite FHA and VA loans, potentially including USDA and Bond loans, while ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining communication with loan officers and processors.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite FHA and VA loans, ensuring adherence to company standards and policies
• Manage a workload of 45+ initial underwrites per month and maintain communication regarding loan statuses
• Assist in training other mortgage positions and provide leadership in credit policy execution

Required qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of government underwriting experience
• Valid CHUMS and/or LAPP/SAR designation for underwriting FHA and VA loans
• Recent experience with USDA and Bond underwriting preferred
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of DU and LP input and interpretation
