Job Summary

Providing professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings, the independent contractor Haitian Creole Interpreter will work remotely, utilizing phone and Zoom for assignments based on demand and qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret orally between Haitian Creole and English in both directions during medical, legal, and community assignments
• Ensure accurate and clear communication while maintaining fidelity to the original message
• Collaborate effectively with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, meeting the needs of medical professionals and patients

Required qualifications

• Fluency in both Haitian Creole and English
• Demonstrated experience in providing interpretation in various settings
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Access to a reliable phone, laptop or desktop computer, and stable high-speed internet
• Willingness to obtain necessary medical clearances, including vaccination records and background checks
