Job Summary

To support a healthcare practice in Wailuku, HI, the part-time hourly Hawaii Licensed Patient Account Representative will process insurance claims, manage billing for medical services, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while potentially working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Processes insurance claims and billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Communicates with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to follow up on claims and collect payments
• Maintains and audits patient records and financial documents to maximize reimbursement and manage delinquent accounts

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post high school coursework in accounting preferred
• One year of experience in collections or medical insurance claims processing
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT-4 and ICD-9-CM)
• Familiarity with mainframe collections applications and proficiency in PC applications
• Ability to perform 10-key by touch
