Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Government Underwriter who will underwrite residential loans while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrites Conventional, FHA, VA, and Special Program loans for completeness and compliance
• Reviews borrower profiles and analyzes income documentation to support loan decisions
• Maintains knowledge of loan product guidelines and communicates regularly with the sales team and management

Required Qualifications and Education

• High School Diploma or GED required; BA or BS preferred
• Minimum 5 years of current frontline mortgage underwriting experience required
• Active CHUMS ID and DE, VA LAPP, and SARS designations required
• Experience with appraisal review, tax return analysis, and secondary market practices preferred
• Understanding of TILA, RESPA, and Predatory Lending regulations
