HCC Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a part-time basis, the HCC Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for various specialties, ensuring accurate code assignment and compliance with ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coding services for Professional Fee and Facility specialties, including calculating E/M levels and coding surgical procedures
• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes while interpreting coding guidelines and recognizing critical care cases
• Maintain compliance with coding ethics, internal policies, and ongoing training requirements while achieving productivity and quality standards

Required qualifications

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• At least one year of on-the-job coding experience is required
• Proficiency in EMR and billing systems, along with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Access to current coding materials and a reliable internet connection is necessary
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
