Head of AFC

Job Summary

Leading the first-line financial-crime operation, the full-time Head of AFC will manage the end-to-end operational response to financial-crime risk across regulated entities, working remotely from anywhere.

Key responsibilities

• Own the AFC operating model, designing and scaling processes for alerts, onboarding reviews, and monitoring
• Accountable for AFC metrics, including open-alert volume and manual-review rates, ensuring operations stay within defined appetite bands
• Collaborate with product and operational teams to optimize user onboarding and reduce friction while maintaining control

Required qualifications

• Substantial experience leading a first-line financial-crime operation in a regulated bank, fintech, or crypto institution
• Proven track record of owning and improving operational financial-crime metrics
• Deep understanding of calibrating controls to actual risk and maintaining financial efficiency
• Comfortable discussing financial metrics and capital impact with executive leadership
• Ability to operate across two distinct regulated entities with different regulatory frameworks
