Head of AI Research

Job Summary

Leading a team of applied researchers and project leads, the full-time Head of AI Training Research will drive client outcomes through applied research excellence and commercial accountability in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and align cross-functional teams around client outcome goals and ensure delivery quality that drives retention and expansion
• Define applied research frameworks and workflows, translating data and benchmarking into client-specific training solutions
• Oversee the development of benchmarking capabilities and off-the-shelf dataset strategies to support client training objectives

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in applied ML or AI research, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a client-facing or revenue-generating context
• Proven track record of translating research capabilities into delivered client value
• Experience working across applied research, engineering, and project management functions
• Strong commercial instincts for scoping and pricing research work in terms of client ROI
• Deep familiarity with LLM training pipelines, including fine-tuning and evaluation methodology
