Head of Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a small, high-performing engineering team, the full-time Head of Engineering will manage team growth, oversee project delivery from planning to production support, and shape the engineering culture in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow the engineering team through career development and performance feedback
• Own the delivery process across frontend and backend, ensuring clear priorities and accountability
• Recruit and shape the team while partnering with product owners and stakeholders to translate goals into actionable work

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 2-3 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience in building and growing engineering teams, including hiring and onboarding
• Strong background in shipping and operating production software with sound technical judgment
• Experience with server-side applications in Java and proficiency in Typescript and modern frontend frameworks
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, microservice architecture, and dev/ops best practices
