Head of Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the engineering organization, the full-time remote Head of Engineering will define the technical vision and architecture, oversee team structure and performance, and ensure the delivery of reliable software while managing engineering standards and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Translate company objectives into a 1-3 year engineering plan and execution roadmap, including decisions on platform enhancements
• Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent while establishing standards for planning and delivery across the engineering team
• Manage engineering metrics, technical architecture, and budget, ensuring alignment with product and business priorities

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including 7+ years in leadership roles managing engineering managers
• Experience building and scaling engineering organizations in high-growth environments, particularly in marketplaces or enterprise platforms
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud-native architecture and infrastructure as code practices
• Proven track record of setting technical vision and translating it into trusted roadmaps for executive leadership
• Experience managing security and compliance programs, including SOC 2 controls and audit management
