Head of Legal

Job Summary

Leading the legal function in a fully remote capacity, the Head of Legal will manage complex legal projects across multiple countries, provide actionable guidance to product and operations teams, and shape the development of regulated insurance products globally.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive legal and regulatory projects across SafetyWing's products
• Partner with product teams to navigate legal and regulatory trade-offs as products expand into new markets
• Provide clear, actionable guidance on complex legal and regulatory questions to support team operations in regulated environments

Required qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with strong commercial judgment and experience in regulated environments
• Experience working closely with product, operations, or business teams
• Strong project management skills with the ability to own complex problems end-to-end
• Practical understanding of how legal decisions impact product, sales, and growth
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and collaborate effectively with external counsel
