Head of Legal and Compliance

Job Summary

As the Head of Legal and Compliance, the full-time remote position will manage legal and compliance matters, providing strategic legal advice, overseeing healthcare regulatory compliance, and reducing reliance on outside counsel while building efficient legal processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review of legal matters and outside counsel spend, establishing budgets and guidelines to reduce costs while maintaining quality
• Own the legal strategy and negotiation for commercial contracts, ensuring efficient processes and collaboration with various departments
• Oversee the enterprise compliance program, including policies and training, while advising on healthcare regulatory requirements and risk management

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 6-10+ years of progressive legal experience, preferably in-house within healthcare or a related regulated industry
• Strong foundation in healthcare regulation and compliance, with experience in virtual care or pediatric care preferred
• Proven experience in building and operating healthcare compliance programs, familiar with HIPAA and OIG frameworks
• Ability to create systems and processes, demonstrating a builder mentality and effective management of outside counsel
