Head of Quality Engineering

Job Summary

To shape the quality framework of a regulated crypto bank, the full-time Head of Quality Engineering will own quality standards, AI-assisted test tooling, and pre-release veto authority, working remotely from anywhere.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the quality framework, including coverage standards and gate criteria, in alignment with engineering leadership
• Establish measurable coverage baselines and drive adoption across Stream Aligned Teams
• Exercise pre-release veto authority to block releases that do not meet quality gates, utilizing automated tooling for self-triggering vetoes

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering with a proven track record of owning quality frameworks
• Hands-on experience in building CI/CD quality gates across multiple testing levels
• Practical knowledge of AI-assisted test tooling and agentic QA pipelines
• Strong understanding of distributed, event-driven microservices architectures and their testing requirements
• Experience in regulated fintech or banking environments, emphasizing mobile-first product delivery
