Head of Research and Scientific Communication

Job Summary

Leading a team of clinical researchers, the full-time salaried Head of Research and Scientific Communication will develop real-world evidence, communicate scientific findings to diverse audiences, and collaborate with commercial teams to enhance Virta's market narrative, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and nurture a team of clinical researchers conducting virtual clinical trials and publishing findings
• Develop real-world evidence in collaboration with data science and external resources to demonstrate clinical and economic outcomes
• Partner with Commercial Marketing and Sales to translate research findings into compelling market narratives and KOL engagement strategies

Required qualifications

• A doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant quantitative health research discipline
• At least two years of direct experience working with patients in a clinical or research setting, preferably in metabolic health
• Demonstrated experience in translating clinical evidence into market-facing narratives and developing KOL engagement strategies
• Proven leadership skills with a minimum of five years in building and mentoring high-performing teams
• Outstanding scientific writing skills with multiple peer-reviewed publications as first or senior author
