Head of Underwriting

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Head of Underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee performance of the binding authority underwriting portfolio and drive profitability across carriers and classes of business
• Partner with carrier and internal stakeholders to implement and evolve underwriting strategies
• Monitor data and performance trends to identify risks and opportunities early, adjusting guidelines accordingly

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years in E&S commercial underwriting, particularly in binding authority or program business
• Deep experience with small/mid-market GL, property, and excess casualty
• Proven success with digital or algorithmic underwriting models
