Head of Underwriting

Job Summary

Leading the underwriting efforts for a new credit fund, the full-time Head of Underwriting will design the underwriting framework, manage deal structuring, and represent the fund in LP meetings, all while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Design the fund's underwriting framework, including credit policy, standards, and approval workflows
• Lead the underwriting and structuring of lending facilities, conducting financial analysis and drafting credit documentation
• Establish and run the credit committee process, ensuring thorough documentation and portfolio monitoring

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in private credit, direct lending, or leveraged finance with a focus on underwriting institutional transactions
• Experience in developing credit policy for early-stage or first-time credit funds is preferred
• Strong background in lending against media, IP, royalties, or gaming businesses
• Proven ability to present and discuss underwriting decisions with LPs and investment committees
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; MBA and/or CFA charter preferred
