Health Actuary Underwriter

Job Summary

To support the underwriting team, the remote Health Actuary Underwriter will set premium pricing for large fully insured health plans, review health insurance applications to assess risk levels, and examine historical claims to inform underwriting decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Set premium pricing for large fully insured health plans
• Review health insurance applications to ascertain risk levels
• Examine historical claims to guide underwriting determinations and policy modifications

Required qualifications

• ASA or FSA designation
• 5+ years of experience in Actuarial and Underwriting for Commercial Fully Insured Health business
• Experience in designing or revising insurance policies
• Ability to collaborate with agents, brokers, and sales teams
