Health Economics Analyst

Job Summary

Joining the Medical Cost Initiatives Team, the full-time remote Health Economics Analyst will manage comprehensive data analysis, identify financial and clinical performance opportunities, and communicate insights effectively to enhance UPMC Health Plan products and programs.

Key responsibilities:

• Independently prioritize and manage multiple advanced quantitative analytics projects while analyzing financial and clinical results
• Apply advanced data extraction, manipulation, and statistical analysis methods to produce insights into Health Plan performance
• Develop expertise in UPMC Health Plan products and benefit designs to facilitate thorough analysis and communication of results

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, health care management, decision sciences, or a similar quantitative field; Master's degree preferred
• Two to four years of work experience in a quantitative job function; five years preferred
• Prior experience with financial and/or clinical modeling or data analysis is highly desirable
• Experience using SQL, SAS, or R for complex quantitative analyses; familiarity with other programming languages or analysis tools is acceptable
• Demonstrated data visualization experience and advanced Excel skills
