Health Information Access Specialist

Job Summary

To support the scheduling and pre-visit planning processes, the full-time remote Health Information Access Specialist will collaborate with specialty clinics to gather pertinent patient information, streamline workflows, and optimize the use of electronic medical records.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and gather relevant patient information to assist in scheduling and access processes
• Collaborate to optimize workflows around record gathering and streamline prior authorization
• Utilize EMR functionalities and Access Database for record retrieval from external providers

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One to three years of experience in release of information activities, patient access, or direct patient care
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably EPIC
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred
• Relevant certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, or CAHIMS preferred
