Health Information Release Specialist

Job Summary

Ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, the full-time Health Information Release Specialist will process release of information requests, safeguard patient confidentiality, and provide excellent customer service in a hybrid role combining onsite and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Validates requests for information, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies
• Logs and processes requests using OnBase and EPIC systems, maintaining accurate records
• Communicates effectively with customers regarding the status of requests and the release process

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 0-1 years of experience in healthcare or customer service
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy rights
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health information record systems
• Ability to read and comprehend medical terminology and related regulations
