Health Information Technician

Job Summary

A company is looking for a HIM Technician II.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and review medical charts for completeness to meet various compliance and documentation requirements
• Ensure proper validation and authorization for the release of protected health information
• Convert paper records to an optical imaging medium, ensuring accuracy and completeness of processed medical records

Required Qualifications

• High School Education or equivalent AND two years of HIM experience, or an Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Applicants in the second year of a HIT program or related field may be considered
• Graduate from an accredited program in Health Information Technology is preferred
• Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT) certification through AHIMA is preferred
