Health Information Technician

Job Summary

Managing requests for medical record information, the full-time Release of Information Technician will provide prompt and courteous service in a fast-paced, remote environment while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.

Key responsibilities

• Process requests for medical records efficiently while adhering to established timeline standards
• Interpret and apply relevant state and federal laws, HIPAA regulations, and enterprise policies regarding the release of information
• Safeguard patient privacy by ensuring only authorized individuals access medical information and maintain strict confidentiality

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in a Health Information Management (HIM) related field or two years of equivalent work experience
• Prior experience in a HIM department related to record maintenance or release of information is preferred
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification is preferred
• Proficiency in keyboarding is required
