Health Information Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for processing patient health information, the full-time Health Information Technician will analyze medical records for accuracy and completeness, manage release of information requests, and participate in departmental activities, all while working remotely during standard business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze electronic records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and perform chart analysis for documentation deficiencies
• Collect, verify, and prepare discharged patient records for scanning into the electronic health record system
• Review and process release of information requests while ensuring compliance with State and Federal privacy regulations

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred
• 1 year of customer service experience in a high-volume environment required
• 1 year of experience in medical records processing or related fields preferred
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred
